I can’t talk to him about a problem in our relationship without him freaking out. He thinks I’m “yelling” at him when I’m clearly talking in a calm voice. Every single time I bring up something that bothers me he gets so defensive and it always turns into a yelling match. Today I told him I was kinda tired of him lying around not doing anything to our home. (we have broken front steps and no insulation in either bathroom. Freezing cold in there in the winter. He has been saying he will do it for the past two years) From the time he gets off work to the time he goes to bed he is sitting in front of the TV. I work also and pay bills. To get to the point I noticed when he has one of these temper tantrums(as i like to call them) with his mother she doesn’t say anything to him at all. She says she doesn’t like confrontation. His father died when he was only 11 so he wasn’t there most of his life. Does he expect me to be like his mother and just be quiet when he has one of these temper tantrums? Does he think that’s how he gets what he wants? I just want to talk to him and like I said he always flips out. I can’t keep ignoring all the problems and stay quiet. I also don’t want to be that gf that just leaves him without any notice so that’s why I try to talk to him when something bothers me. It’s also vey rare that I try to talk to him or as he calls it B**ch at him. How can I make him realize I’m not yelling at him? I grew up in a house of yelling and I know I’m not yelling at him. Sometimes I wish I could send him to live with my step dad for a week then he will come back with a whole new view of what yelling is. I have never been the type to yell but with him it is unavoidable. He always yells first.
I’m 11 weeks pregnant too and maybe this is why I want him to start doing something. All he does is watch tv, play facebook games and sleeps for 6 hours at a time during the day.
